These last few weeks I’ve been just way too busy. I had to move house, so I in between the packing, the cleaning, the organizing, the kids, my multiple projects, and all my regular chores, it’s been crazy to say the least.
If you think I had to put my workouts on hold, you’d be dead wrong. It might seem incredible, I still managed to get a daily workout even in the middle of all the craziness. No excuses!
Here’s how I did it.
Quick and Effective Workouts for Busy People
The secret to time-efficient exercise is doing HIIT (high-intensity interval training) workouts and strength circuits.
These kinds of workouts are the best for fat loss as well as for toning your entire body.
So instead of spending an hour or more at the gym, you get a fat-burning, whole-body workout in 30 minutes or less. Sounds great, doesn’t it?
Here’s my weekly workout schedule for when I don’t have much time available.
Monday and Thursday – dumbbell strength circuit
This workout is good for toning your whole body.
Grab a set of 8 to 10 pound dumbbells. Make sure you do each move with the correct form so you won’t hurt yourself. You can take a 1-minute break between each circuit. Let’s do this!
Tuesday and Friday – HIIT workout
HIIT workouts are great for burning fat.
Click on this interval timer. Do each exercise for 40 seconds and then take a brief, 20-second break. Keep going like this until you’ve repeated the circuit 4 or 5 times. Let’s sweat!
Wednesday and Saturday – Tabata
This kind of workout can be pretty intense, but it will keep your body in fat-burning mode for hours afterwards.
Click on this interval timer. Do the first exercise for 20 seconds and then take a brief, 10-second break. Then, do the next exercise in the same fashionl Keep going like this for 8 rounds. Then, take a 1-minute break and go on to the next set. Let’s get sweaty!
Workout Tips for Busy People
HIIT workouts and strength circuits are the best way to go if you don’t have much time available.
Warm up for 5 minutes before your workout and then stretch for 5 minutes afterwards.
Don’t forget to take sips of water during your workout and then more when you’re done.
But most importantly, make sure you eat healthy, nutritions food the rest of the day. No junk!
If you’re a terribly busy person, you can still find the time to workout effectively without spending hours at the gym. There’s no need to make up anymore excuses. Just do it!
