I confess that although I never miss a workout, my eating habits have not been up to expectations. I’ve been indulging a little too often and a little too much, and this has kept me from reaching my health and fitness goals. It’s time to make a change! I’m sure I’m ready. How about you?

For the last few months, I’ve been doing some things right. I’ve been drinking water and working out, and I’ve generally avoided junk food.
However, I haven’t kept count of the times that I’ve indulged on unhealthy food.
Now, don’t get me wrong. Indulging once in a while is fine. There’s nothing wrong with that. But when does it become too often?
I have to admit sometimes it becomes difficult to tell when I’ve had too much, and that’s when I think indulgences become a problem.
Am I putting things in my mouth because I’m bored or because I’m hungry? Do I really feel like having a cookie or am I having it because everybody is doing the same? Is it ok to eat anything I want and as much as I want every weekend?
I believe that if you start asking yourself these kinds of questions, then it’s time to make a change because you’re not eating as healthy as you think.
So that’s why I decided to take on this healthy eating challenge.
4-Week No Junk Healthy Eating Challenge
It looks simple, but I bet it won’t be so easy!
Instead of eating junk food, I will strengthen other healthy habits.
- Drink 6 to 8 glasses of water a day
- Have at least one serving of produce with each meal and one serving of protein
- Do 30 minutes of exercise every day
- Sleep at least 6 hours every night
- Avoid sitting for more than 2 hours
- Keep workouts fun and motivating
I feel very motivated to start taking better care of myself. These last 6 months have been tough, physically, financially, and emotionally, and it’s started to take a toll on my body.
I feel heavy, bloated, and I get stomach aches.
I know I have to start making healthier food choices, or the pounds will start creeping back on.
I want to feel energized and healthy again.
I need to challenge myself or nothing will change.
I’m ready to start doing this! And today is as good a day as any!
Would you like to join me on this challenge? I will post updates every week. Let’s support and motivate each other!

I love this simple outlook on eating healthier! One of the easiest ways to feel and look better is to cut out the processed junk 😀

Small changes make a huge difference! But I’ve also found it’s a never ending battle, or journey. Somehow, processed junk keeps making its way into my life, so I have to do this every once in while 😛

Your list is doable! I am on weight watcher counting points and most of those items I avoid anyway! I do allow low cal weight watchers’ ice cream. Good luck and I will cheer you on!

It really is doable! I’ve been avoiding junk food for 5 days now, and it’s been easier than I thought, but I already feel a hundred times better. This is definitely worth doing!

I love this list. I too am great at my fitness, I run 5 miles daily religiously. But my eating habits leave a lot to be desired. As a busy mom, entrepreneur, traveler, etc, cooking is last on my list of things to get done. Thanks for the reminder to be mindful of what I need to do with my food choices.

I think I wll join you on this challenge. I am often better when I completely refuse foods rather than allow myself to them “occasionally” which creeps up and becomes more regularly than I would like to admit. I have lost 30 pounds and I don’t want them back!

My case exactly! I also lost a lot of weight, but it’s easy to start indulging a bit too much and that’s when the weight comes back on. I’ve been junk food-free for almost a week and I feel much lighter and better.

A great avoid list. I am already avoiding them and it feels so good. Keep at it and encourage each other.
