I love listening to music while I work out. And seriously, who doesn’t?
But there’s a few ways to incorporate music into your workout that are more than just listening to it in the background. And it makes exercise a lot more fun!
These workouts are specially helpful when you’re short on time or when you just don’t feel like doing your regular routine. Ever had one of those days? Yes, me too.
So if you’re feeling sluggish or you’re much too busy, just do one of these fun, quick workouts. It will get those endorphins moving and you can get on with your day.
Let’s do this!
3 Quick & Easy Workouts With Music
1. One Song Workout
I kept seeing these workouts on Pinterest and I thought they were a joke until I tried them. They really get your heart rate going!
What you have to do is play the song and do the moves and reps that you see in the image below. Very simple!
If you want a longer workout, do two or three songs with a minute’s rest in between.
Or you could simply do the same song two or three times if you like. Because it’s your workout and you can play any music that suits you!
Anyhow, this is my favorite one-song workout.
And here’s the song. I think it’s very energetic! It really gets me moving.
You can find more one-song workouts on this site.
Try this one day when you want to have fun. You won’t be sorry!
2. The squat challenge
This workout is very well-known. Quite simply, you play the song “Flower” by Moby, and you do squats.
You have to squat down every time you hear the phrase “bring Sally down”. But the hard part comes when you have to hold the position until you hear the phrase “bring Sally up”.
Think you can do this?
The first time I did this, my legs and butt became sore! But I do this every now and then and I’ve gotten better at it. And it’s still fun.
If you want to make it harder, you can do this with push ups or tricep dips. That’s a real killer, though. You have been warned!
So choose squats, push-ups or tricep dips and hit play on this song. Remember, what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger.
3. AMRAP workout
You could also play your favorite workout song and see how many times you can get through this circuit:
- 30 jumping jacks
- 20 sit-ups or crunches
- 10 squats
- 5 push-ups
FYI, that’s what AMRAP means- as many rounds as possible.
Challenge yourself! After a few times of doing this, you should be able to increase the number of rounds completed.
This is one of my favorite workout songs. What’s yours? Play it and let’s get moving!
Workout with music and have fun
As you can see, these workouts are quick, easy, and require no equipment. You can do them in the comfort of your own home, and you don’t need a lot of space or time. They’ll also get your heart rate going and the best part is they’re fun to do.
Who says you need to do long boring hours on the treadmill to get fit? Let’s have a little fun!
